DescriptionA curvy, cross-hatched Felicia as only Uncle Frank can draw her. And who can say they are referenced on a Frank Cho cover?I have always liked Frank Cho's pin-up work and I have adored the many sketch covers that are out there. Owning all of his artbooks, I wished for a proper Frank piece one day. Throughout the years, I had set my mind on one of my own, with a specific topic. However, Frank doesn't typically take requests - especially not outside of conventions. With Frank looking to save up for his dream house in Las Vegas, I thought it was the right time to reach out to his rep early in 2024 and explain my idea. Lo and behold: the stars aligned and Frank was open to doing a commissioned sketch cover for me. I wanted Black Cat, either having a wardrobe issue or unzipping. Hey, you got to lean into an artist's strengths, right? What I didn't expect, was the sketch cover being so fourth wall breaking and referencing me. Jokes? Sure, that's logical. A reference to me? Heck, no! The artistry on display is quite clear, of course. The cross-hatching especially is one of those things that Frank is so famous for (and I was hoping he'd do a good bit of it for the leather outfit). Seeing the cleanliness and finishing surprised me when I opened the package this morning. There are a few pencil lines here and there, but this sketch cover is polished and inked insanely cleanly. While I met Frank at Lake Como in 2022 & I got a looser sketch there, I had always set my sights on a proper Frank Cho commission. I'm happy to now have finally scratched that itch. Social/Sharing |

The style is distinctly Frank Cho. While people can try to technically copy drawing this one day, the humor is like a certificate of authenticity in itself.

Great sketch cover by Frank! Yes, the boobs and outrage are great, but please look at the crosshatchings! Frank Cho's pencils are one of a kind!
