Description

Back in March 2024, Andrew Robinson's commission list opened up via Essential Sequential. While on honeymoon in Japan, I still followed some of my notifications and signed up for a slot. My request was a two figure painting showing the love of Peter and Mary Jane.

I thought that would fit well, considering Andrew's great covers on "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" a few years back. Some of those even featured Mary Jane - a rare thing in today's Spidey comics.

The result is a true piece of art, created on handmade 11x14 paper from Costa Rica, where Andrew used a combination of colored pencil, watercolor, brush, pen and ink and copic markers. An elegant composition, with some great white highlights on Marvel's power couple.

Looks like a 70's styled piece with the color scheme and the embrace showing love conquers all in Spidey's book.

As it should! Counting down the days to Peter showing personal growth and progress again in his personal life in "Amazing". Thank God for "Ultimate", though!
