Description

Me being a big fan of Spider-Man's adventures and stories in his black costume (both in the 80s & 'Back in Black'), I just had to have something from the duo that worked together on "Amazing Spider-Man" #252 - the debut of the black suit.

So I did! In the summer of 2019, I reached out to the rep of both penciler Ron Frenz & inker Brett Breeding to set up a commission.

The only kind of direction I gave, was for Ron to maybe include some New York City background. He did so in his typical black border in the background, which I love so much. It's typical Frenz, but with a twist.

And then of course, Brett worked his inking magic to really bring the dynamic figure to life. It really portrays Spidey as the athletic hero he is. Size is 9x12.

Yup a truly dyamic pose by the creator I most associate with the blac costume if I had to pick one! Congrats!

Oh man! Talk about a stroll through my childhood!

These guys were rocking ASM when I first started collecting and this piece reminds me of my favorite story- the fight between Spidey (with Silver Sable!) Vs. The Sinister Syndicate on Coney Island!

When Spider-Man's black symbiote costune, was first introduced, I wasn't too keen with it. But as

isssues, and time, went by I really grew to dig it almost as much as the original. (*much like The

Black Panther outfit, it's stream-lined, dark, and cool*) Anyway, here's a fine example, you've got

here, beautifully illustrated by the multi-talented; Ron Frenz. Thanks for sharing.

Fabulous Black Spider-Man drawing! Love the dynamic pose here! Ron Frenz really nails the figurework and Breet Breeding's inks bring it to life!

Absolutely! I'm glad this piece oozes the acrobacy that I think of when picturing 80s Spidey!
