DescriptionFinally, my third and last (for now) piece by Spanish superstar Manuel Garcia (Daredevil, Spider-Man: Breakout).You might be thinking: "Another black costume Spider-Man by Manuel Garcia?". While I loved the outcome of my second piece, with Spidey swinging around in NYC, my original idea for my commission was a bit different. The idea went more in the direction of a more heavily inked, moody, menacing and horror monster kind of idea. So that is exactly what Manuel worked up for me. Size is 11x17, and this was done in pencil & inks. There's also some brush strokes in the background, as well as cross hatching to accentuate the night sky shadows. Social/Sharing |

2 great black costumed Spidey pieces! LOVE this one. Upward perspective, rain effect, lighting, detail, inks...this one's got it all. That lightning bolt in the background really takes it over the top! Congrats!

Absolutely! I was afraid of giving too many ideas and overdirecting a bit, but the way it materialized, was exactly what I wanted. Manuel did amazing work.

Gracia does a great job of not letting the night completely consume Spidey by using a the lighting from the streets below help delineate his figure. The glow from the lightning also help as it looks like it touches upon his shoulder to be one with him.

That, combined with his looming posture & figure work, makes for a great composition here!
