A long-overdue add to my collection; finally - FINALLY - a piece by the great Chris Bachalo.

I really enjoyed the Bendis run on the title, and Chris’ character re/designs were a terrific part of it. Like -so- many others, my favorite among them was Illyana and her big honkin’ soulsword, and even though they’re relatively tiny on this DPS, the two images of her and the sword here (in panels 1 & 4) curl my toes with delight.

MOST importantly, this DPS features a Bachalo Lizard (because why should the mighty K Gearon get to have all the fun? Hi, K! ;) )! It’s most likely a demonically-possessed (and Hellfire-charged) Krakoa (which is all KINDS of -awesome-), but it’s fun to imagine that, with Illyana conjuring it, it could very well be an... Infernalizard...? Kalimbo Dragon...? Limboguana...? Regardless, this Helligator (nailed it!) learns an important lesson when it tries to start some trouble and Storm is in residence...

Tim Townsend’s marvelously silky inks make everything as smooth as glass where it needs to be (as usual), and keeps the Hellmeleon as jagged, sketchy, and “ember-like” as possible. Lots of fun textures playing off of each other here, as well as a beautiful, majestic Windrider stealing the show.

BIG congrats, my friend - I know this is a huge get for you! And not hard to see why. Really does have a little bit of everything and in the unique Bachalo style. Great flow with that layout and storytelling from left to right. Got a full page lizard splash (OK, I GUESS I don't have a monopoly ;)) and that head shot of Ororo in the middle is just a standout image. Bee-you-tiful. Bonus that you got the Mohawk look :) Congrats again, man!

That is a beautiful sleek Storm. Gorgeously drawn and inked. Lots of eye Candy throughout this stunning DPS and love the lizard as well. Nice find!

My unnatural fear of lizards might mistake this for a horror title lol. Even though I have a lizard problem, it still looks amazing and congrats!!!
