DescriptionUpdate: 10th of June 2022 - Last night, this piece was featured on CAF Update #98 on YouTube, and chosen by Bill Cox as one of his favorite posted pieces of this week on Comic Art Fans. He mentioned that he would love to own this piece, and I totally get that!Pre-con commissions for Lake Como Comic Art Festival and budgeting are typically two things that do not go hand in hand. However, British artist Mark Buckingham (Fables, Death, Spider-Man) is the big exception here. He set up a list a few months before the show at very reasonable prices. I'm a big fan of Mark's work and have read a lot of his Spidey stuff with Paul Jenkins when growing up, so I knew what I wanted. As his style is very "modern Silver age" & Romita-influenced, I wanted a Spidey-Sense Peter Parker and boy - did Mark deliver! Love the addition of the camera, the Goblin, and how the watercolours really make it pop. Mark did admit that he had way too much fun with this commission, and went a bit overboard, as this was supposed to be a head piece - or a bust at most. His rep confirmed that I lucked out. He was also the nicest when talking to him, and he took explicit time to talk to my girlfriend at his table, too. Very much appreciated and, now, he has an extra fan! Social/Sharing |

Such a great expression with the spider-sense going off! Looks like Buckingham tapped into his own nostalgia for this one.

Wonderful commission? The Goblin in the lens coupled with spidey sense is a very nice touch.

Fantastic rendering of the classic split of Peter and Spider-Man. Expertly executed with such rich color. Congrats on this!

Love the distressed look on Pete, adn that you can tell it's a tense situation because of the pose, whether the Pete or Spidey side! Congrats!

Thanks, Kahlil! I always appreciate your comments! Love how this one tells a story about that tense situation, thanks to the Goblin inclusion.
