Description

Fairly recently, I fell in love with the work of the upcoming Spanish artist Adrian Bonilla. A few months after following him, he opened his commission list in December & I quickly claimed a slot.

Adrian - a Spidey fan, too - loved my (rather typical) idea of Spidey swinging in New York City & got to work on it back in March. He sent me a picture a couple of weeks ago & I immediately fell in love with his rendition of the idea.

The main takeaway here for me is the succesful & effective storytelling - instead of just a "simple" action pose. Spidey in the background, swinging towards both the beholder and the thief who is running away through the crowd. I also adore how that background phases out from very detailed to less so to convey the action better.

A great piece from someone you should keep your eye on! The piece is A4 (Europe's 9x12) & done in pencils and inks.

I really like how big the sun is made on this piece. It really helps balance out all the detail on every other part of this piece.

Awesome Spider-Man commission by Adrian Bonilla! What an interesting scene with Spider-Man swinging overhead in pursuit of crooks with guns while the average people in the street just stroll along without noticing what's going on--One guy's even listening to his headset! What a terrific execution of a very cool idea!
