DescriptionThis is my final page for Bernie Wrightsons birthday Month. When I bought this piece from a private collector, it had been stored away for over 40yrs!Issue #2 was actually my first ST book, with which I first looked upon Bernie Wrightsons artwork. It sent shivers up and down my spine, as I starred at each passing page in amazement! It wasn't like any of the other comic books I had ever collected. What a great story and what great artwork.Gazing at that last page with that Frankenstein looking monster... I couldn't wait to read the next coming issue! This page represents the first look and appearance of"The Patchwork Man".This is for all you Swamp Thing lovers out there.Special thanks and happy birthday to Bernie Wrightson this month for all the monsters, creatures and zombies that he created for all of us to enjoy, now and for years to come! I know most collectors usually rave about the largest panel on a two-thirds splash, but the 1st and 2nd panels are the real stars of this show. The way he cast shadows against the wall and across the steps in panel two, from the moonlight coming in through the right side of the panel, is absolutely exquisite! Congrats on getting such a fine page.

Could you ask for anything more from a Wrightson Swamp Thing page? It's a beautiful work of art.The light and shadow play is masterful. Huge congrats!

Truly awesome end-page by Wrightson! Swamp Thing #2 is personal favorite of mine as well...a gripping Patchwork Man teaser with exquisite artwork, how could anyone resist being hooked?

Fabulous Wrightson page! Love the buildup of tension in the first two panels. Love Wrightson's use of shadow throughout! Great pick-up!

Superb example from the classic run by the Master of the Macabre ! And yes, this is "Frankensteins Monster on the last panel, reminding me on the later drawn great Val Mayerik Frank issues (esp. in "Monsters Unleashed" where he did "The Wrightson"in b/w :) It doesn't get any better than this.

Wow - three panel page, end page, birth page, classic run, Wrightson page, Swamp Thing in all 3 panels, and cool word balloons - that is a lot of great on the same page!
