The layouts are all well designed by Eisner to have accessibility for readers who knew or didn't know how to follow a comic story. One panel flows to another and there are occasional borders like a typewriter needing a full stop so you can move to the next line.

In La narración gráfica (Norma editoria, Barcelona, España, 1998, p.3), Eisner explains: «In our culture, cinema and comics are the two most important props that use the image to tell a story. Both media use the succession of images, as well as text or dialogue.»
