Description

#jonathanmarks’ art has similarities to other artists—#georgepratt #jonjmuth #billsienkiewicz—yet, since his early days illustrating for #marvelcomics, he’s always stayed true to his own style;
.
this is my 2nd commission with jonathan, where he’s executed wonders again and exceeded my expectations;
.
at about 18" x 15", this art channels some elements of #barrywindsorsmith’s #weaponX; however, despite a commercial subject, it’s beyond comic art;
.
it’s visceral and thought-provoking with a fine-arts vibe that displays great negative space, attractive minimal nature brush work that manifests some gestalt technique, plus—“the hills have eyes”

Wow, really nice! You say this gentleman once worked in comics? I've never heard of him, but he certainly does evoke memories of the fine art stylings of George Pratt, Jon J. Muth Bill Sienkiewicz and also Kent Williams. Wonderful, Mel!

Excellent piece of artwork. I feel like I am in a brawl with Wolverine with this piece and just brushing the snow out of my eyes as being charged by Wolverine.
