DescriptionI'm sure I've said it somewhere at sometime, but I rather love Ed McGuinness's Thor! In fact, I'd love to get some of those pages from his Hulk run, featuring Red Hulk vs. Thor, but since those pages have long since been snatched up, I opted to grab McGuinness's latest iteration of the God of Thunder. The variant for Thor #9, I gotta say, the image is pretty striking and proves that McGuinness knows what he's doing! You have to love Thor's dynamic and powerful pose!Social/Sharing |

You know, usually a cover like this would be seen by most as "not so good", because "It's only a shot of him standing there.", or "It's just a shot of his back.". But in this instance, the perspective he drew it from instead gives off feelings such as "Powerful!" and "Majestic!". It takes high level skill to pull that off when you're essentially giving people a back shot, but that's why McGuinness is tops in his field. Nice grab, man!

Really love the power and pose of this one. When I see exquisite inking like this, it makes me wonderful, HOW does Ed draw every single one of those little lines?? It's really quite astounding.

Truly dug this the first time I saw it. Majestic, powerful, all the SUPERlatives. I think one of Ed's recent best cover images. Love that he's semi turned. Gives the "the Thunder's coming..." vibe so well. Congrats, man!

This is a solid Thor piece here.
It doesnt look like a kick from Galactus would knock him off his feet.
