Here is the final gouache and printed b/w line on transparent acetate.

Below the desription of the drawing technique by his son Hunk: "My father used a technique called "Blueboarding".
First he would draw his illustrations in pencil on a frosted-acetate. The drawings
then went to the printer's where they would be photographed and transferred
to an offset film for printing. With the black-line film, the illustrations were then
printed in a light-blue colored ink onto a sturdy illustration paper. Hence, the
name "blueboards".
My father would then paint-in his colors for the illustrations with gouache on
the illustration boards, following the light-blue lines, and using the black-line
film overlay for guidance.
The advantage of this technique, for my father, was two-fold: It allowed him to
make his drawings quickly and freely, without worrying about how to paint the colors
without covering the lines, and it also gave a brighter reproduction: when his blueboards
would go to the printer's, the black had already been separated from the other colors,
and only the cyan, yellow and magenta films would need to be made for offset."

Very nice as you can see this technique used by many comic creators through the years to get that crisp outline over painted colors. Really fun with the fluffy bunny painting underneath.
