TIM-21 - Dustin Nguyen

My collection is primarily X-MEN based, but there are a few pieces that are just as X-citing to have along with it. I had my partner tell me a series a few years ago that he found compelling and emotionally deep for their characters, he told me of a series called DESCENDER which I had never heard of at the time.

He was right! The series was absolutely magical and epic, similar to SAGA, EAST OF WEST and SWEET TOOTH these character driven series in high end world building environments. I truly loved this series and fell in deep for these characters, one primarily being TIM-21.

I knew nothing of this commission piece gift, which also came with some original page art (from ASCENDER #14) and the lined original script (with hand drawn composition pieces throughout) for ASCENDER #7. Included is a picture of Dustin to go along with this commission.

It's one of Lemire's best and Nguyen compliments and expands on this world and this story. With how it ended, it is sure to be celebrated to bring in future readers to discover Descender and Ascender.

I picked up the first issue of Descender when it came out on the stands particularly because Dustin's work was so eye-catching. Who knew it would lead all the way into the conclusion of Ascender and an incredibly moving comic epic? Wonderful Tim-21 by his co-creator, man!
