DescriptionFrom SDCC 2024 comes the first of two commissions we got this year. This sketch card painted piece comes from Geoffrey Pascual and is a commission based off of GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES (1988 Studio Ghibli film - HOTARU NO HAKA). He did this fantastic painting in 1 day, after stopping by his booth and giving him the prompt of something from STUDIO GHIBLI, example GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES. Pascual’s work is gorgeous, he has a lot of great paintings, posters and art at his booth (SDCC aisle 800 area). We will likely continue getting commissions each year with how affordable they are and quickly he is getting these stunning pieces done. I highly recommend checking his work out, he’s a really talented artist that we hope to see a lot more of. Adding this painted piece to represent our love for STUDIO GHIBLI films, goes along greatly with the animation cel we have. This movie is absolutely intense, horrifically beautiful and hauntingly hard hitting but a must see to experience what it has to say regarding a time that is getting buried and lost from a perspective that is often not heard. Cheers to art and movies that move us! Social/Sharing |

This one has a really great impact to size ratio! From the image alone I wouldn't have guessed that it was on a 6x9 card. Awesome little SDCC pickup, it turned out wonderful.

Looks great here and must look that much better in person. Blending the watercolors this way...not easy. Got a strong AND hopeful quality to it. Sweet get, man, congrats!
