A sensitive and charming work that brings the icon's personality traits out to the audience. She epitomized sex symbol during her time, but she was much more. Lotay brings all that elegance and glamor, but does not forget the person within.

Nice commission! I had Marilyn in my sights for Tula before, but she selected other characters off my list! So glad to see her finally tackle this icon.

If I'm not mistaken, this is from one of the famous Milton Greene sessions. Greene was, by far, my favorite Marilyn photographer. So happy Tula chose this shot to recreate. For Marilyn fans, I highly recommend tracking down a copy of Milton's Marilyn. A stunning collection of Marilyn photographs. Anyway, great piece Malcolm!

I believe you're right. I have the Greene book, and also a framed print of one of them with (on a separate sheet) an honest to goodness Marilyn autograph...
