DescriptionThanks to Marcus I now believe this is Joan Allen who was in 'Manhunter' - and as a piece of art it was beautiful and irresistible - as originally shown by and bought from Nucleus Gallery in Alhambra CA, with thanks to both Nicki France and Tula herself. Joan Allen also starred in three of the Bourne movies, fittingly…loosely based on my autobiography of courseSocial/Sharing |

Is this the 1986 film? I think the lead there was an actress named Kim Greist, but this does not look like her (actually looks a bit like Sharon Stone to me). However, I did find a copy of the Italian movie poster that features a woman. No one I recognize from the film, but it could be a take on that image. In any case, it's another stunning piece by Tula. I so regret missing her Black Friday sale on Cadence. But I know I'll get something eventually. Congrats on another beauty Malcolm.

I had my eye on this from Gallery Nucleus as well, but it was gone when I was finally ready to go for it. Congrats on getting this, and glad to see it up on CAF! I couldn't figure out who this was supposed to be (Joan Allen makes the most sense, even if I can't see the likeness), but I loved the ethereal quality of the piece, which is only heightened by the shades of pink. Simply beautiful.

Thanks and I agree - when i first saw the image i knew the face looked familiar but couldn't place it. I first thought 'Keri Russell' but she wasn't in the film. I do think, now, that it's very clearly Joan Allen, and Tula is very good at this sort of likeness, I've seen her using a sort of blueline technique for it. I have a wonderful faux-poster she did for 'Arrival' with Amy Adams and it's exquisite and also a great likeness.

Haha, Keri Russell was one of my first thoughts as well, which didn't make any sense. Tula generally does great likenesses, which was why it was confusing that the likeness here was so elusive. I can see how it could be Joan Allen, but I also think it'll be clearer once I actually watch the movie.

Yes. I've not rewatched the movie but I've looked at some stills and there are scenes where she is lying down like that albeit clothed and/or with the tiger
