DescriptionI have alwasy been a fan of Classic X-Men or X-Men Classic (they changed the name so that all of the X-Books would be together in stores that listed them alphbetically), mainly as it was a way to get a chance to see classic issues for modern prices vs. the high prices of books 15 years post release. In addition they would always have the new wonderful covers by the top artist coming up at the time. Here we get some early Adam Hughes Marvel cover work, and this was my favorite of them all. The inside of the issue is a reprint of Uncanny X-Men 175. I think this is not only a great cover by Adam but also a great X-Men cover as well.I was introduced to the gentleman who owned the cover this year at Heroes in Charlotte, then later I wanted to follow up and let him know if he would ever decide to part with it to let me know. The next day he follwed up and said he could see I was a fan of the cover and would be willing to let it go, thanks again Joe and James for the introduction. Social/Sharing |

I'm as dumbfounded with this Classic AH! cover as the rest of the X-Men are with Dark Phoenix's return! Even Cyclops has to take the fall because he can't handle it!

I prefer quite a few of the Classic X-Men covers to those that graced the originals reprinted therein — and this one is pretty special. You are in a VERY exclusive club if you own an Adam Hughes X-book cover. Great score!

Love the Classic X-Men covers, was always so fun to see great artists interpret classic X-scenes in their own style. This is a perfect example--iconic X-Men moment and gorgeous example of AH's art. Congrats!

Oh man, that's outstanding! Cover that's seared into my brain and it's great seeing the OA in your collection here. Check out all the expressions, and Hughes's use of light and shadow...SO good. Congrats!

What a cool X-Men Classic Cover! I love Adam Hughes drawing an X-Men cover. Adam is one of the best artists for drawing really attractive women and isn't that what Jean Grey really was? After all, Jean not only had Scott Summers wrapped around her little finger, she also had Wolverine following her around like a rejected lover. So having Adam drawing Jean gives her that little extra sexiness that she deserves. Splendid cover by a master of good girl comics.
