Description

I have to confess, I never really understood Prometheus. I remember liking the Morrison stories he was in but also thinking "what just happened" after each of his appearances.

But, anything with Oracle standing up to a big bad, it really hard for me to pass up. This page reminds me of the amazing jiu jitsu that Ostrander and Kim pulled off in bringing her back from the brink after A Killing Joke. It's also a great testament to how suprising a shared universe can be when writers have the courage and creativity to own someone else's mistakes and build incredible stories from them.

Of course, none of the above appreciates how great Porter's motion is in the page, despite it being basically talking heads. That last panel tells you everything you need to know about the steel in Oracle's spine.

Bought this from eBay in early 2025.

This JLA run was hot and was one of the few non Batman DC books to break into the top 10. Porter's ability to draw every hero and villain was showcased in this breakout series. Prometheus is probably one of the few new villains created for this series that has stood the test of time.

Really enjoy all the highly detailed backgrounds throughout the page, and love Dell's inking over Porter here. nice page!

Great dialogue makes this page even better. I didnt remember that Prometheus met Oracle.
