The original cover artwork for Captain Marvel, Dark Tempest #4, from Marvel Comics, 2023.

"Ok, I love how this one came out. My editor had a vague idea, and basically let me just roll with it, which are always the most fun pieces. They did have the request specifically for a treatment I used for another cover, an X-23 Dark Ages cover, and emphasize the dramatic lighting. So, i dusted off the Copics, literally, and this is the result.

The final piece is 11x17 on Arches Hot Press, and is completed in Copic, pastel, acrylic, and a good bit of cussing due to my markers dying on me so many times, hahah. It was worth it though, as i think the final result is beautiful."
