DescriptionSize: 22 x 17Year: 1993 What else is there to say about Mike Mignola that has not been said? My appreciation for his work only grows with time. For me, the sweet spot of his work has to be the early 90s and to get this jaw dropping DPS from the single issue that quite literally reads like a precursor to Hellboy was really special. Fantastic early Mignola example! Statuary, Batman, Gothic architecture, bats, and a shadowy figure that could come from a Hellboy yarn. The composition is wonderful

It hits you even more if you've ever been to the cemetary grounds where some of these elements were taken from.

Most people would call this a Mignola Batman piece, and rightly so. But for me, it's a classic Mignola cemetery piece. And it would be just as spectacular weather Batman was in it or not. Congrats, it's stunning!

Incredible DPS !! Mignola's Batman is a rare beauty and this is one of the finest pieces he'd done with this character !

Everything you could want in a Mignola piece, and from my perspective everything I'd want in a Batman piece despite the absence of a garish villain. Moody and gothic--a historic Mignola masterpiece.
