DescriptionSize: 11 x 17Year: 1993 My 3 favorite stories in the Sandman universe are a Dream of a Thousand Cats, Dream Hunters and Ramadan from issue 50. It introduced me to PCR's amazing art and storytelling ability and it has always been a fantastic read no matter how many times I revist it. All I can say is THANK YOU to Migs for allowing me to safekeep this page which also happened to be my favorite page. There were 3 palaces mentioned in the Ramadan story. The palace of Wisdom, Wonders and Pleasure. Guess which palace I loved the most : ) Whilst others may opt for the various other wonderful pages which are set in the bazaar or with Dream keeping the Sultan company or threatening him, none surpass THE HAREM sorry, the PALACE OF PLEASURES page! This page is also very tastefully signed by PCR and Gaiman himself. Social/Sharing |

Always special to have your favorite page from a series, especially Sandman. I'm lucky to have my grail as well. Congrats on the pickup. Thanks for sharing!

Extraordinary page from Sandman #50 by the amazing P Craig Russell. What a gorgeous series of panels relating the story of the Palace of Pleasure. Each of these panels is tasteful yet provocative. The scenes of the women and boys lolling on thick plump cushions are intercut with closeups of eyes and lips, and then the final scene of the man laying with a winged woman--An Angel? It's a remarkably sensual yet seemingly safe presentation of the ulitmate harem. P Craig Russell's beautiful drawings along with his smooth, sinuous line conjure up an unforgettable image for us. Breathtaking work, IMHO.

A great example from a book that it is tough to find pages from.
