AL TALIAFERRO (text by BOB KARP): DONALD DUCK DAILY STRIP - November 9, 1940

One of the first strips featuring the character of Daisy Duck. Very rare gag in Disney comics for its "sexual" content.

Another hidden gem is in the dialogues: the 17 names mentioned by Daisy are those of the artists who worked in the Disney Comic Department in 1940 (Tom Wood, Floyd Gottfredson, Ted Thwaites, Bob Karp, Al Taliaferro, Hank Porter, Bill Wright, ...)

Una delle primissime strip con protagonista il nascente personaggio di Paperina (qui alla sua 6^ comparsa di sempre). Gag efficace ed estremamente rara da vedere in un fumetto disneyano, per il suo contenuto velatamente sessuale e misogino. Le daily strips, del resto, erano presentate dal lunedi' al sabato sui giornali quotidiani e si rivolgevano prevalentemente ad un pubblico adulto.

Una perla si nasconde nei dialoghi del terzo e quarto pannello: i 17 nomi maschili pronunciati da Paperina appartenevano a disegnatori e sceneggiatori del Disney Comic Department del 1940 (Tom Wood, Floyd Gottfredson, Ted Thwaites, Bob Karp, Al Taliaferro, Hank Porter, Bill Wright, ...)
