Description

Superman: American Alien #4 by Jae Lee. Student journalist Clark Kent�s first encounter with a young, egotistical Lex Luthor. Clark arrives to Lexcorp Tower via a helicopter ride with Oliver Queen, who is there to meet with Lex and Bruce Wayne to discuss the future. While Jim Lee�s artwork is no stranger to the ColLEXion, a piece from Jae Lee was still needed. This page puts Lex front and center as he educates Clark as to why he is more important to the world than Oliver Queen and Bruce Wayne. You just look at this page and know Lex is currently giving some long, egotistical monologue while a nerdy and unassuming Clark Kent listens on.

Graphically well designed with the wall cutting off the left side of the big panel to frame Luthor's figure beside it and everything to the right is back at a distance. Jae Lee's style that has evolved over the years may have reached its apex with works like this!

Love the textures, poses, and vibe of this page! Lee blows out the outlines in parts so that it looks like an overexposed photo, and in other spots he goes nearly full black. The style really works for the mood of this story
