DescriptionThis is one of my favorite Born Again pages. The scene is so evocative of a chilly day in Central Park. I love the way he drew the trees, and the wonderful gestures of Ben and Foggy in the third panel. I can almost feel the cold bench and inhale the crispy cold air through my nose.Did you notice that Foggy chose to sit on the bench with the homeless person lying on it? That little detail tells the reader everything you need to know about his compassionate nature. I traded a high quality page to get this. Thanks so much to the former owner for a very smooth transaction. I got the decade right on this one. Social/Sharing |

Miller's writing for this page is superb. The narration is written just like a reporter would and the matter of fact answers Foggy gives are just like how a lawyer would reply. It gave both professions a nobility as they would risk it all to do their jobs and especially to help out a friend.

There is not a bad page in that book but this one stands out as exceptional storytelling and layout. Just a fantastic example. Right decade indeed!

Gorgeous page. Like a five-tool baseball player, Mazzuchelli can do it all as a comic artist.

Every example from BA is a treasure. I'm a sucker for great sequential storytelling so in my humble opinion, you traded up.
So much energy in that top panel, just because you have a talking heads page doesn't mean it has to be static or boring. Also love that you've got multiple people lighting up a cigarette... no mistaking that NYC 80s vibe

Moreso than most other books, Daredevil was blessed with many of the best combos of creators but Miller left his mark with his writing on this series more than any other creator and this is his peak. David brings a very painterly approach to the scene which adds to its impact. A perfect pairing of penciller and writer.

It's a wonderful page that highlights Miller's penchant for compelling dialogue (at least during this period) and the brilliance of Mazzucchelli's artistry.

MAZZUCCHELLI dialog pages are better than most artists' action pages. Great foreground positioning of Ben Urich in that last panel.

Ben and Foggy are easily two of the best supporting characters in Marvel Comics, so this page is pure gold.

Beautiful page from a classic Daredevil story! David Mazzucchelli's work on Born Again was nothing short of masterful. Look at this page--Two guys talking in a park. No big deal, right? But Mazzucchelli brings the scene to life. Central Park, the trees, the people, even the homeless dude on the bench. He includes it all but it isn't overly busy, to the contrary, the detail makes it real and keeps it interesting. From your comments, this page cost you a high quality page--It was worth it. Congrats on landing a big one.
