DescriptionMy only Kirby page, but at least it has Cap! I need to tell the story of me acquiring this page. Lucky on my part. But sad on another guy's part. I've had this since the early to mid 90's, way back when I was running a comic store. One day a guy came in with Fantastic Four #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. He needed to sell them because his wife wanted to remodel her bathroom. I bought them for the store, and then, over the course of the next few months, the same guy bought them back. Some time after THAT, he was back. He needed to sell them again. His wife wanted to remodel their kitchen. So I bought them again. And, in the next few months, he bought them back AGAIN. It's...not really a smart way to finance remodeling, since he was taking a major money loss through each transaction. I felt really bad for the guy. Then, a few months later, his wife wanted to do more remodeling. This time he brought in this Kirby page to sell. I bought it. And I kept it.Social/Sharing |

Great page and a great story. Now I'm wondering whether that remodeling is still ongoing, or the marriage for that matter.

I never saw the guy after he brought in this page, and have often wondered about the current state of remodeling / marriage myself!

That piece survived seeing 2 rennovations on the wall, but would not witness more. Kirby's Cap and Falcon are earnest and visually fun and classic. Even the villains in their revolutionary era style are done with Kirby magic.

Lovely page, and a very entertaining story. It's great to have Cap and Falcon on the page. The top two panels are terrific.
