DescriptionI love a vast variety of art, from fantasy and surrealism to abstracts and textures. Simon Bisley is my favorite artist and this Alien painting is one absolute favorite pieces of all time. This piece struck me as a mix of fine, realistic detail, abstract composition, and a wide range of colors, textures, and mediums. The mouth being the focal point, highly detailed teeth, the red 'pop' color positioned on the left and bottom third of the image. Moving away from the mouth, the painting doesn't just get looser, but moves into the abstract with spots and circles on the arms, spray paint, colored pencil, and razor scratches on the shoulder, a few simple horizontal lines just above the hand on the left to indicate water in the yellow lit tunnel. It gives the impression of an alien rising from water.This image was used in an advert in Sega Saturn UK issue 10 gaming magazine for the promotion of an Alien trilogy game.
