Description

Original sketch of Cobra, the Space Pirate by Simon Bisley, drawn in a small art book produced for the Berserkerart Kickstarter in 2018.

A cult character from my childhood, probably largely unknown in the US/UK… I can just picture Biz’s face when he got my request: “WTF is this guy asking for?”.

Still, Cobra’s universe — with its very old-school heroic fantasy vibe — fits perfectly with Bisley’s world. True fans will know exactly what I mean.

Here, Buichi Terasawa’s legendary hero gets the full Bisley treatment: raw, muscular energy and, of course, the iconic psycho-gun. An unlikely but glorious meeting of a classic manga and Bisley’s brutal style.
