Description

I had the good fortune to run into Eric Canete at a local con back in 23. We discussed his current work and the evolution of his art style over the years. I happened to have a picture to show Eric of his 2002 version of Batman & Robin that I pick up from him back decades ago. Eric kindly agreed to take a crack at the Dynamic Duo in his current, more kinetic, style of 2024.

By comparison, you can check out the 2001 version in my CAF -- both are fantastic. Thanks to Eric for hanging out and producing a masterful Canete bookend.

Also, special thanks to Doug Pflueger for coordinating the pick up.

Love the shapes he's employed in this. He also has such a great knack for reimaging costumes but just slightly. He puts his stamp on this but it's still clearly recognizable as the Dynamic Duo.

Great illustration style! It has a lot of Komiks influence right down to the line style and the paper color for a vintage that looks older than the one 20 years earlier.

Eric's one of my favorite artists. His uber stylized takes on established properties...yeah. Witness exihibit A :) Love how Bats kinda frames Robin here. Congrats, Patrick!
