DescriptionFirestorm was never a character I cared about but I did enjoy reading Wizard magazine. One month, they featured a preview of a relaunch for Firestorm featuring Jason Rusch as the hero.At this time, I hadn't seen a black man become a character that debuted as a whole different ethnicity and only knew of Blade and Black Panther as the only Black superheroes (Yeah, I was still scratching the surface with learning my comic characters). So when this preview debuted a new black superhero, I was on board as I hadn't seen much of myself represented in comics at the time. Though the series was hit or miss, the artwork was decent for my taste at the time. The fact is, this incarnation of the character is embedded as a part of what would add to my fandom and I'm proud to own another bullet point of my youth and pop culture history along my wall! It's a classic pose that we've seen from famous artists through the years including for Thor, Superman, and any other character that flies. The art is so strong by ChrisCross that they could flip it upside down and it is still an effective cover. Representation matters and ChrisCross is repping too!

ChrisCross doesn't get enough pub at times, when it comes to how dynamic many of his images are. Case in point! So much movement and depth that that pose and perspective. Whew. Big congrats!

AMAZING Firestorm cover! Looks great right side up or upside down, or right side down and upside up! Or ... well it just looks great! Terrific grab!

Omg I can't begin to tell you how many times I checked back in on this piece just hoping it'd still be around once I was ready for it. For as disappointed as I was once it disappeared, now I am equally happy that it found such a loving and appreciative home. This cover slays--such a cool perspective on it. ChrisCross was ahead of his time. Congratulations.
