The flipside doodles are some of my favorite thing about Toth. Awesome piece.
This page is AWESOME Mark! Cool to see his early style. Not quite developed into where it would end up, but you can see it moving that way. And as ever with Toth... just genius level composition as you pointed out in your write up. I've always wondered what Toth was drawing when he died... not for any morbid reasons like wanting to buy the art. But just to know. The man was next level. There will never be another him. Congrats on such a FANTASTIC page!
What a great page. It's got a little bit of everything. Congrats.
Every panel can be it's own splash page and we'd buy it.
This is a beauty, Mark!
So worth the wait. We got shoulder shooting, whack payback, smooching, tension. Oodles of doodles. This piece has it all.
A definite prize of a page Mark. Great action panels.
I can see why you love this page. It has some really nice panels. Congratulations!
nice!
Interesting how richly rendered everything is--almost George Wunder level. Toth would slash the detail to minimum while doubling down on these complex compositional ideas.
Love these Golden Age pages! And to have one by Toth is fantastic!
What I love best is the noir period feel
Love the back of the page just as much as the front. So good! Congrats!
Congrats on a truly great page! I especially love the doodles on the back. You can see hints of the later Toth in there and how his work evolved. A really cool look into his style and process!
Beautiful!
This is the kind of Toth page we all want! Masterful storytelling!
Terrific Toth - and it's an end page - and Panel 4!
