Description

For years, Stan Lee and company used the "Marvel Method" in producing comics. Instead of creating a full script, the writer would put together a synopsis of the plot - typically varying from a couple paragraphs to a couple of pages - and the artist would layout the story and draw it based on the plot. The writer would then fill in the dialogue based on what the artist drew. It was a much more collaborative way of creating comics and it gave the artist a lot more influence on the story. Unfortunately, while much of the artwork survived from that era of Marvel comics, most of the plots were discarded. So, even though this is a photocopy - not the original - it is still great to see what writer Archie Goodwin had in mind for issue #149 of The Incredible Hulk and compare it to the end result drawn by Herb Trimpe. (This is a first generation copy, likely made by Goodwin and either sent to Trimpe or kept by Goodwin for his records.)
