Description

Chic Jackson (1876-1934) created the Roger Bean comic strip for the Indianapolis Star in 1913. The strip was an immediate hit in Indiana and was featured in a number of reprint books in the following years. Jackson’s feature suffered in the 1920s, with the introduction of a slew of family strips, but Roger and his crew ran until 1934, the year of Jackson’s passing. I’m very pleased to be able to offer a copy of Jackson’s first reprint book, Roger Bean R.G., published in 1915. The 5¾”x 17¼” hardcover is in Good+ condition. While complete, you can see the wear to the front cover. There is similar wear to the back cover, with damp-staining at the bottom of most pages. Still, this is an uncommon, and wonderful book. $50.00 + 6.50 Media Mail shipping. SOLD!
