DescriptionAs always, Bill Mauldin needs no introduction. Here is a wonderful first edition copy of Mauldin’s “Let’s Declare Ourselves Winner” from 1985, with a terrific drawing of Joe, as well as an equally terrific inscription: “For Mell, whose mother wore my mother’s combat boots –“ I’m not sure if the Mell referred to is Mell Lazarus, but it’s possible. By the 1980s, Mauldin was usually drawing just a smiley sort of face, rather than anything with any sort of detail. This piece is plainly recognizable as Joe, even including the multi-day facial hair and shadows on the helmet. The title page with the drawing is in Excellent condition. The book itself is also Excellent and the dust jacket is a solid Fine+. Terrific stuff. $100.00 + 8.00 Media Mail shipping.Social/Sharing |
