DescriptionMy first major piece of art obtained from a wonderful fellow comic art fan, Dino. This historic piece means a lot to me for so many reasons: my love of comics, my love of X-MEN, my love of NEW MUTANTS, my love of Bill Sienkiewicz amazing art and Clairmont’s writing, DEMON BEAR SAGA (need I say more) and the opportunity to work on the upcoming film. So many amazing things coming together for a comic loving weird kid that got to relive a piece of his childhood and now own a little piece of the history.I am very grateful of the previous owner to allow me to collect this piece, thank you again Dino. It’s such a spectacular piece, it embodies so many things I love in comics. The art is from a period of Bill’s life where he was really coming into his own style and you see it in this piece. I was fortunate enough to be on set with him as well and got to hear about his take on this creation. It’s the DEMON BEAR SAGA, what a great story and psychotic twisted mind adventure it became. It also is a piece of art that does some great exposition and power reveals: Cannonball’s invulnerability when flying, Magik’s soul sword not actually physically harming Magma (only removing demons/supernatural effects), and the first time you see Magik’s Eldritch armor form on her left side of body (protecting her from the crash to the ground; you see a small patch appear on her arm briefly and back in issue #19), and the best part is realizing the devious nature of the DEMON BEAR (that he is using them to tear each other apart); just love his huge smile that we see in lower right. It’s an amazing piece to finally bring home to stay. Social/Sharing |

Great piece. Has all those great elemest that bill was doing back then. Dynamic angles, expressive line work and solid drawing. Nice pick up.

Wow, Demon Bear is one of those amazing moments in comics, where you have all the creators at the top of their game doing something that can only be done in this medium! Fantastic example from the run.
