DescriptionSNIKT! SNAKT! This is a big one for me. I've been trying to pick up a piece of Grampá's artwork since 2010 after I read Mesmo Delivery, but he was only selling work at conventions and he rarely came to the states. Once Grampa started working with Chiaroscuro Studios I tried my luck over the years at several art drops, but I always ended up being the runner up (if anyone knows where the Grampa-Bowie piece is, please reach out).Fourteen years later I feel very lucky to be able to add a page from Rafael Grampa's Strange Tales II "Dear Logan" story from 2010! This is page two of the eight page story featuring a ring fighting Wolverine taking on Deadpool's son with a bloody ending. Even though this isn't one of the action pages with Logan in his luchador inspired costume, this page has a lot to offer with all the little details and easter eggs. In the first panel we get art in art with Logan walking by half of the wrestling match poster from page one, the locker room where we see Wild Child and Sabertooth cooling down after their match, and Cyber warming up on the bag. Grampa then gives a great three panel sequence with Logan finding the "Dear Logan" letter with some quick claw-popping action. The last two panels delivered some wonderful atmosphere with the little details, hand lettering around the locker room, and some back and forth between Wolverine and Deadpool (I think it's supposed to be Wade's son). Many thanks to Nicholas at Chiaroscuro and Grampá for making this possible! I love how Grampa draws Wolverine and how much he packed into this page. It's a treat to finally be able to see his work in person. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Social/Sharing |

Thanks my friend! It's a bloody story but the art is stunning in a way only Grampa does.

Huge congrats, George! Glad you were able to check this box in such a big way! No question it's Grampa right when you look at it. The stylization, the line work... great stuff. Got some action up top, Logan, claw pop, and all the easter eggs as you note - checks many a box! Congrats again, man!

Fantastic! The attention to detail is amazing and there really is something to like in every panel. The claws out sequence and character filled top quarter panel make this a prize fighter and a great interior. Sincere congrats on finally landing a Grampa, and a beautiful one at that.

Nice pickup, George. Love that unmistakable Grampa line, especially on the luchador in the first panel.

This maybe a "non-action' page, but there is still a ton going on, and the details and line work by Grampa is just great. Congrats on picking this up George.

Fantastic page - I love the grittiness of the work and the story telling - how I wish he would have done more pages -

Long journey well worth it for this reward! Such a great European western style by Grampa that seems well suited for the loner type that Logan is.

Congrats George! This definitely has the feel of a page that is even more impressive in person. I may have to ask you to bring it to Heroes next year.
