DescriptionThis is the final prelim for the "Lords of the Starship" project. After Paul produced eight prelims, we had a discussion about pulling elements from my favorites and combining that all into a single final prelim. I really loved the sky, buildings, and foreground elements from #2 and the rockets from #7 and #8, but facing in the oppposite direction. Paul understood and within a couple of weeks this arrived in the mail. The final prelim was slightly larger than all the rest at 7.5 x 7.75 inches and it was perfect! I immediately called Paul and asked him to paint it exactly like that at 25 inches square. I just knew that it was going to be a magnificent painting. The white at the top of the ship really helps balance things out with the bright yellow of the city and fire at the ship's base.
