Description

Absolutely masterful execution by Nick Dragotta, capturing a tremendous amount of detail from the original, while adding so many great new twists of his own.

Thrilled I was able to get on his commission list and over the moon with the result. Above and beyond any expectations.

Thanks to Felix Lu for facilitating this. Getting you a high quality scan is tops on my to do list once shelter in place ends.

ETA: I should mention this issue is near & dear to my heart as the book that started my love for comics as a kid.

My favorite part is Colossus's left fist being blurred to show movement. Dragotta nailed this overall, though. Phenomenal work!

Oh man, I came to remind myself of what I'd commented, only to find I never did comment! I also LOVE the original cover and this is a spectacular, dynamic homage to that original. Such great movement in this piece. Amazing!

In the category of "man I wish I'd thought of that". Congrats on the idea, the gumption to bet it, and ultimately a spectacular execution from Nick. Nick Dragotta doing classic X-men updating JRJR is a perfect combo.
