I was first alerted to Mahdi's work via Cartoonist Kayfabe's look at his Bootleg Spider-Man #1.

When he was listed on the HeroesCon 2023 artists alley, he seemed like a good target for my X-Men Sketchbook. After circling Gateway for his entry, he delivered big-time and is on my list of go-tos for sketchbook projects.

Following Mahdi, you find an absolutely prolific indie comics creator, as well as a super nice dude.

Glad to add Mahdi's Gateway to Volume #1 and look forward to adding him to future sketchbooks (Spoiler: I already have).

One of the most intriguing mutants ever with a look that is far more humble than his powers! It makes the point to never underestimate one from how they appear! A staple of the Outback and Generation X stories, Gateway is still pivotal in current X-Men stories with writers finding more ways to utilize his teleport powers.
