Wow!! What a dark story by Rafael Auraleon for Vampirella! Rafael gives us a skillfully drawn and masterfully inked page. I am struck by the simplicity of the layout--A man comes down the staircase, finds the dead child and grieves while the ghost child comes up behind him and stabs him to death. Deceptively simple, but so handsomely drawn and inked that you don't expect that ending. The opening panel of the silhouetted man coming down the stairs to an unlit basement is a classic horror scene--It's the "What's lurking in the basement?" story--but here it is done with such consummate skill that the horrific ending seems all the more frightening. Great pick-up, congrats!
