Description

I saw that Hembeck was selling this cover at one of his shows with Bill and I had to have it (plus he said I was his favorite fan, no matter what Jeff Wedding might say)! It's no secret that I am a huge Hembeck fan, owning a lot of his sketch cards, so this one was a no brainer. Lots of squiggly knees, and then you see Howard wearing Namor's shorts while being surrounded by the much taller Defenders... I love how Fred decided to just draw the bottom part of the Defenders' bodies, so that the attention stays on Howard, while at the same time unmistakably representing Valkyrie, Hulk, Nighthawk, and even Dr Strange's cape! Another treasure by Mr Hembeck!!!
