Description"Fire In The Sky!"August 1979 I have many things to say... "Claremont Era" on Uncanny X-Men run cannot be overcome! George Perez did an unbelievable work on this legendary (let me say) issue. Every page and every panel are just jewels. It's just awesome the incredible level of detail he reached! Do not forget that this issue was originaly asigned to Dave Cockrum (another Marvel Monster!) Terry Austin is a genius.... To me, The Uncanny X-Men can not be understood without TA touch, flair and light. Sean Rutan (a fellow collector) has done an amazing job leading a "three fronts deal". All parties have won! It has been an amazing and crazy journey! Thanks also to MIke Burkey. Soooooo... many thanks Sean! This page has incredible action... a mutant tansformation and a battle!!! With all this being tossed around I think it's time Arkon invested in a chin strap.

One of the few times Perez worked on X-Men and having Terry Austin inking can only mean the fine polish will be gleaming! A great page to demonstrate it is having Colossus' armored form. The abundance of Perez detail only works to enhance the look.

Perez/Austin combo, awesome! Love that Colossus transformation paired with the Conan-esque Arkon.

Fabulous George Perez X-Men page! Love how Perez's style works as well on the X-men as it does on Teen Titans. (Of course, the fact that he's inked here by Terry Austin doesn't hurt.) I love that bottom panel of Collosus landing a haymaker on Akron that sends him flying off the page! Great pick-up!

Hi Bill, thanks so much. Fully agree on your thoughts. Not any artist is entitled to draw on X-Men run. Only a few list of them... any name of that list is an impressive artist.

The late great GP just straight showin' out! Love the Coloussus transformation, and those punching panels are TOPS. That last one... great depth, lettering, movement, whew. Killer stuff. Big congrats!

Another stunning example from a truly classic issue. George and Terry were just magnificent on this book. Ond of my favorite comics to look through, even without reading. Congratulations!
