Description

This is a bit of personal grail piece as I never thought I'd have the chance to own a Denis Kitchen piece of this caliber, let alone get to work with Denis in any way.

This is the Jack The Radio music-comic cover artwork drawn by comic book legend Denis Kitchen (Kitchen Sink Press, CBLDF) with cover color by Rico Renzi (Spider-Gwen, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Bitter Root). As a bonus the artwork is oversized on a 15 by 20 inch board.

If you don't know, Denis has been a pioneer in comics for decades starting in the 70's (probably earlier) and in to today! He helped pave the way for unique voices in comics for decades and founded the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. He helped create a space for comics and music to intersect. He worked with Dark Horse, Stan Lee/Marvel, and Kitchen Sink Press published works with Will Eisner, Harvey Kurtzman, Al Capp, Mark Schultz, Charles Burns and more. Let's not forget the Grateful Dead comics he published in the 90's. You get the point and I'm elated that I get to own this piece.

As an added bonus I got the chance to talk with Denis in person at New York Comic Con 2022 this past October and hope to talk more in person in the future.

Insane. Brilliant. Gorgeous and love all the kookyness. Having Ruferto appear in disguise here makes extra sweet!😁😅 Dennis is a true genius and incredible inker too!!

GREAT piece! I love it! I love that the moon is taking a very nipple-like creature out for a walk! Congratulations! Loved reading your commentary. Love when somebody gets something as meaningful as this piece in their collection. Especially when that collection is a great home! Congrats George!

Crazy cool! Love this insanely detailed Denis Kitchen cover! Love all the bizarre details on this piece--From the Skull-like head of Jack to the moon-shaped head of the woman behind him to the crazy objects lying at his feet! Kitchen has a seriously warped perspective! Congrats!

This is a fantastic piece and is so personal! I think you scored a great piece and collaboration. I can personally attest to the fact that the comic itself is also very nice in person.
