DescriptionA very nice cover I had been watching literally for years before pulling the trigger.Juan Bobillo is an Argentinian artist whose work is sadly much too rare on the US market. I have loved anything he has worked on with a preference for his (rounder) She-Hulk and X-Men work. His work is always solid, different and fresh. This cover comes from the end of the F.Nicieza run on T-bolts before the (failed?) attempt at Fight club T-bolts in the Marvel universe by John Arcudi. I have always responded well to symmetric compositions in art and it doesn’t come much more symmetric than this one. The character (Anomaly is his name)‘s position. The radiation, crackling energy and the on the nose Yin & Yang symbol. Even the space and place devoted to the drawing on the board play into the symmetry of it all. And while Anomaly’s design and not to be messed with attitude may remind some of the worst 90s Image days, I like it, especially all that radiating energy which is differently done than the usual (great) Kirby dots. Delighted to finally own a piece by Bobillo and that this one didn’t escape me after years of watching. Social/Sharing |

Love this cover format. Simple and yet not. Congrats!

Sigh...I THINK I like the character design and I THINK I like the simple composition which looks lovely, but it's hard to tell with this crappy quality image. But yes, we've gone through this before, I know! Anyway, I'm glad to know you finally found yourself a piece by this guy after patiently looking for a long time!

Beautiful (and wonderfully symmetrical) piece, F M. This is a rare case where I actually think the colored version may be my favorite, as the orange really pops there and underscores the linking/energy feed element of the piece. Very striking for sure; great pick up (and fun to add one to the gallery that you've been watching for years elsewhere :) ) - congrats!

Kirby Krackle can make almost any image better. I like how Bobillo uses it to denote internal energy and character held together by the suit (?). And the yin yang with matching composition elements was a strong choice. I'm glad it waited for you. :) Congrats!
