Description

From the story 'Only Losers Win!'

Warren publishing with 'Creepy' and 'Eerie' really brought some legendary talent to its pages. This one details a driver living as close to the redline and beyond with some startling consequences in the pursuit of being the winner.

Perhaps a cautionary tale with Howard bringing a feverish pitch as high in volume as tire's screeching on a raceway.

I was reminded immediately of something released well after, of the short film 'The Running Man' (Not the one with Arnold) from the 1987 'Neo Tokyo' Anthology.

Chaykin brings all that racing adrenaline and excitement to each panel with screen tone, scratches, white paint, and solid storytelling. Very short and wide cinematic panels with those all black gutters that he uses to speed up the pace of reading from panel to panel.
