DescriptionMy good friend and PUBLISHED COMIC BOOK COVER ARTIST Eranga Devasurendra posted an EPIC commission recently. It was so compelling I immediately tracked the artist down and asked to be put on their list. When the time came we had a good conversation about a potential subject, and followed that up with a discussion on the environment. Kenny sent me a couple thumbnails and after that he was off to the races. The process shots I would get would be increasingly ludicrous.The final product is magnificent. It needs to be framed, because there are so many wonderful details, lovingly rendered. You can find Kenny via his instagram. Check his work out! Happy Star Trek Day! Great image! I like this more dialed in look at the setting. Vader's stalking pose is also really menacing. The fine line work almost gives this a fantasy quality vs sci-fi.

They put a trap for Luke on a cloud of Land-o
Where the ice cream maker used to stand
Before that was a carbonite refinery
On the site I once stood by my Lobot pally
That's where the Jedi used to come and play
His sister went there with the Han one day
Lunch gathering
Darth’s children used to come and call
Ugnaught dismantling, my own C3PO
Come from the Dagobah, another date
Luke should be ready, Ben Kenobi makes him wait
He took the bait, in anticipation
He didn't know the fight would end up in frustration
He'd end up losing arm, his faith in force is weak
But if he wasn't the dad, they'd never speak
Light sabering
That's how they did it when I was just a kid
And when they said Cloud City
The Jedi always did
Eranga showed me Kenny art's all right
And ML would always IG and wait
Commission ended up as a big show
When his artwork always turn out great
Dark with no windows, I can see them in orange light
Two silhouettes starting sword fight like the duel of fate
'Day Fett took Han from Cloud City
My Wookiee stood and cried
The Empire raided Cloud City
Took all my Colt 45, just five
Now I'm grown up and playing in the sand
And there's a Star War where the movie used Luke's hand
My sister's married and she gives Rey my estate
First Order go out, now it's her turn to wait
She knows they get away with things Shmi never could
But if I asked her I wonder if she would
Light sabering
Come on sister, train yourself with ball
Don't be afraid to come sabering
The force is natural
Come dancing
Just like Cloud City on a Saturday
And all her friends will come dancing

May the 4th be with the Tribbles. I feel like the scene would need a proper score. Why Can't We Be Friends? Protect Ya Neck? Sunrise, Sunset? So many possibilities! This is such a sweet, super-detailed commission of a fantastic scene. All that heavy black gives a great 3-D feel. The foreboding cloud city set contributed equally in making this lightsaber duel one of the most iconic Star Wars scenes. It’s very apparent that Millien understood this when he was creating this piece for your wonderful collection.
