DescriptionHave always loved this plate. While no monster, it captures the feel of the book with the doctor's despair sitting in the pouring rain. A wonderful example of Bernie's inkwork.Social/Sharing |

This piece shows how brilliant Wrightson's artistic style was!

Every line except the ripples in the stream is like pouring rain. This period in time where Wrightson poured his creative energies into could not be matched even by himself after this experience.

This is a magical, timeless drawing that lives outside the trends in fashion or art, IMO. How did you get two of the best Frankenstein plates? My hat's off to you!

This one is stunning! I actually prefer a lot of the plates without the monster on them!

When I saw one plate I was wow!...but 2 jeez. If I could ever have just one Wrightson (and could afford it) it would be a Frankenstein plate. Awesome stuff!

Congratulations Stephen! This is one of my favorite plates as well. It's such a mood setter. Absolutely wonderful! Congratulations again, such a beautiful piece.

Unreal...I'm sure whoever sold this to you lives with constant regret over that decision, um, oh wait...

So gorgeous! I have the book with all the printed illustrations, but I can only imagine how much better they look in real life.

Unparalleled line work. Wow. AND so emotive. Everything you'd want in a piece of art. Huge congrats!

And there are those sinking melancholic lines again. Perfect.

The book is called 'Frankenstein'...not 'The Monster'!! Who needs him? I love this page...so brilliantly executed. Big fan of the other two pieces...don't forget to mention that the unused title page uses a passage from 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' by Coleridge, which complements the piece so well....
