Description

This original animation cel is from the classic Macross TV episode #2 "Countdown" カウント・ダウン "Kaunto Daun". Originally aired in Japan on October 10, 1982. Macross is also known by the English language dub called Robotech.

In this iconic shot Hikaru is rescued by his sempai 'big brother' Roy Focker. He is a distinguished ace pilot who is also known as the Skull Leader of Skull Squadron variable fighter group. Roy expertly pilots the VF-1S in battloid mode and casually talks with Hikaru as his gunpod blazes away. Roy lives life boldly, loving women, drinking, and is a true badass.
