Description

Introduced in New Mutants 98, Deadpool has become one of the most popular characters of the modern era. In the issue, the Merc with the Mouth has been sent to kill Cable. For what, I forget, but Cable was great at making enemies. This time it was Mr. Tolliver, sending Wade to have his first of infinite chatty battles.
McKone has been doing some dynamic solo pin ups the last few years, so I thought a battle would be even better.

Commissioned at Heroes and picked up at SDCC 2022.

Amazing close combat composition even with Deadpool's long swords, and Cable's oversized guns finding their way to fit within.

McKone always does very nice stuff, so it's hardly a surprise to see how great this commission turned out. But I also really love the watercolors he uses, the quality of which are fabulous, especially with the more muted palette he tends to use, especially in the backgrounds.
