DescriptionI was able to find this illustration published on the cover of the June 1943 issue of Love Fiction Monthly, but there is no indication of the artist. The previous owners think it is a Bradshaw Crandell, but I'm not convinced.Social/Sharing |

Her innocent good girl look is very eye catching. All her features are an ideal beauty for her time and still can carry over to today.

Any time an unidentified cover turns up, a bunch of guys will chime in and throw out the names of the 1 or two most well known artists painting in that style. Just like that unidentifies paperback cover that Hake's recently auctioned as a Robert McGinnis, just because the cover model had the same sophisticated appearance as the models McGinnis always used. Sadly, whoever "won" that piece just got screwed for thousands of dollars. But regardless of who did this one, it's another beauty for your collection!

I saw that auction. It's still a really nice piece, just not a McGinnis...

I think it would be unlikely for Crandall to work in the pulps given the fact he would have earned like 10% of what he got in the slicks - check also when Crandal lwas i nthe Military.
