Description

Season 3 Episode #4 The Time Trap of the Superfriends cartoon from the mid-70's. This was the season called Challenge of the Superfriends where there were real comic villains battling the heroes.

I have stumbled on a lot of art from this specific episode so when I came across a storyboard page, I had to get it.

This is page #19 -- begins with scene 57. Captain Cold and Sinestro went back in time to King Arthur's court to steal the treasures of Camelot. As a bonus they would trap heroes (Green Lantern and Samurai) in that time period.

The storytelling is complex and far beyond what normal storyboards would look like as Toth adds notes and shading that is playing out in his mind.

I've never looked at story boards for other shows, I'll have to check it out. I just thought that is how all cartoons were laid out.

But you are right, with this much detail, it is like an actual comic page and shows he had the whole story in his mind and not just a plot idea.

I also have a lot of the pencil drawings for this episode ... none that match this part of the story...a page or two after. I'll be posting all those later.
